TweetSpiration is an iPhone app that searches, parses and visualizes words from twitter messages (tweets) based on a user inputted search term. The resulting visualization can be used as a design tool that helps individuals develop tangential research paths and inspiration, as a news tool that helps gather up-to-date information on trending news topics, and as a brand identity tool that helps businesses understand the conversations surrounding their products. It was developed by the Brite Lab (www.engr.psu.edu/britelab) at The Pennsylvania State University with the financial aid of Penn States Center for Research in Design and Innovation.
